Pit Bull Terrier / Cardigan Welsh Corgi / Mixed (medium coat) Dog

*FREYA the Dog needs a home

Meet Freya our stubby legged, long bodied, chocolate pit bull mix! You don?t see one of those everyday!

Freya was experiencing anxiety from constantly being in her kennel (what dog wouldn?t?) so volunteers try to pay her more attention. All The barking noises make her very nervous and sensitive. When she becomes like that, people walk right on past her kennel and never give her a chance. They don?t know what a love she really is once out of her kennel. Right now, Freya has a foster family which helps. She is doing spectacularly at that home. But, once she comes back to the shelter, we can?t help but think she may slide back into her anxious state.

Freya has also been on an overnight visit to a volunteer?s home. Even for that short time out of her kennel, she became a completely different dog. Once she relaxed in the home, her slightly sassy attitude melted away and she became more cute and cuddly than we had ever seen her! She asked for belly rubs (well, insisted really), she engaged with the family, and she had tons of fun playing with her plush toys. She did all of this while sharing space with another dog.

To help Freya overcome her anxiety with the barking noises, she participates in the very prestigious doggie playgroups at the shelter! This activity takes her mind off of the other barking dogs and helps her gain more confidence. All of this attention helps Freya, but the only permanent solution is for her to be adopted and have a home of her own.
Could that home be yours?
